Stud

We are a small privately run stud, the first and only one so far in Switzerland breeding British Spotted Ponies and British Riding Ponies. Our aim is to breed first class ponies of Show Pony and Show Hunter Type, with correct conformation, outstanding movement and superb temperament. Our stud is based on carefully selected quality stock imported from England, of old proven bloodlines. We have two Stallions - Harwoods Simple Simon and Diptford Star of India - both of them multiple champions and supreme champions, and both perfect English gentlemen with manners to burn.

We also aim to promote the British Riding Pony and the British Spotted Pony on the Continent. Showing is neglectable in Switzerland, as there are only few shows, predominated by Shetland Ponies, Fjord Horses, Fell Ponies and Welsh Cobs. We promote our show-quality ponies at competition - e.g. dressage, showjumping and mounted games - where they attract a lot of attention with their beauty and elegance and their ability and willingness to perform. In fact, there is no reason why a beautiful pony should not perform well and vice versa. Our ponies are noticed for their outstanding movements, their skill at jumping and their eagerness and swiftness at mounted games, and for their active, forward going but calm temperament.

Our British Spotted Ponies are based on Riding Pony and Welsh and old spotted bloodlines. In addition to their quality they sport attractive coat patterns.

Our ponies stand their test on a daily basis as versatile saddle ponies in our riding school and at competitions. They are ideal mounts for active, sensitive, competitve riders.

We breed at a small scale only. We retain the ponies until we find them ideal homes. As we set high value on a correct and careful schooling, we usually do not sell ponies before having them broken. To avoid becoming overstocked, we sometimes refrain from putting mares in foal. All our ponies are allowed to live a natural life - they are out in the fields every day (or in the paddock, depending on weather conditions). They are handled and/or ridden daily and are used to a busy yard - to lively children, dog, cats, traffic etc.
